    2. Data we collect

    • Name, email, phone / WhatsApp number, and preferred language.
    • Booking details: tour, date, passenger count, hotel/pickup, nationality.
    • Payment data processed by Stripe and PayPal (we never store full card numbers).
    • Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, or SMS.

    3. How we use your data

    • Confirm, coordinate, and operate your booking.
    • Send receipts, reminders, and logistics updates.
    • Answer questions and provide post-tour support.
    • Comply with Costa Rican legal and accounting obligations.

    4. SMS & WhatsApp messaging

    By providing your phone number you consent to receive transactional messages (booking confirmation, reminders, receipts, itinerary changes) via SMS and/or WhatsApp. Message frequency varies with your booking. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out of SMS reply STOP. For help reply HELP or email info@vivoexpeditions.com.

    We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or the contents of your SMS/WhatsApp messages with any third party for marketing purposes.

    5. Sharing with third parties

    We share only what is necessary with: payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), messaging providers (Telnyx for SMS, Meta for WhatsApp), email (Resend / Google Workspace), hosting (Supabase / Lovable Cloud), and tour operations partners (transport, guides) strictly to operate your booking.

    6. Retention

    We retain booking data for the period required by Costa Rican law (minimum 5 years for accounting/tax purposes). You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@vivoexpeditions.com.

    7. Security

    We use in-transit encryption (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access with audit logging, and never store full card numbers.

    8. Minors

    We do not market services directly to minors. Minors travel under the responsibility of the booking adult.

    9. Changes

    We may update this policy. The current version is always published at this URL.
