1. Who we are

2. Data we collect
- Name, email, phone / WhatsApp number, and preferred language.
- Booking details: tour, date, passenger count, hotel/pickup, nationality.
- Payment data processed by Stripe and PayPal (we never store full card numbers).
- Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, or SMS.
3. How we use your data
- Confirm, coordinate, and operate your booking.
- Send receipts, reminders, and logistics updates.
- Answer questions and provide post-tour support.
- Comply with Costa Rican legal and accounting obligations.
4. SMS & WhatsApp messaging
By providing your phone number you consent to receive transactional messages (booking confirmation, reminders, receipts, itinerary changes) via SMS and/or WhatsApp. Message frequency varies with your booking. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out of SMS reply STOP. For help reply HELP or email info@vivoexpeditions.com.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or the contents of your SMS/WhatsApp messages with any third party for marketing purposes.
5. Sharing with third parties
We share only what is necessary with: payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), messaging providers (Telnyx for SMS, Meta for WhatsApp), email (Resend / Google Workspace), hosting (Supabase / Lovable Cloud), and tour operations partners (transport, guides) strictly to operate your booking.
6. Retention
We retain booking data for the period required by Costa Rican law (minimum 5 years for accounting/tax purposes). You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@vivoexpeditions.com.
7. Security
We use in-transit encryption (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access with audit logging, and never store full card numbers.
8. Minors
We do not market services directly to minors. Minors travel under the responsibility of the booking adult.

We may update this policy. The current version is always published at this URL.

Google measurement and your choices
Google Analytics receives visits, sign-ins and purchase events without names, emails or card details. Google Ads receives the transaction reference, USD amount and confirmed-reservation event for advertising measurement. Authorizations are not confirmed revenue. The booking adult’s email is shared only as a hash for enhanced conversions after explicit advertising acceptance. Hashing is not anonymization: it is used to match a purchase to Google advertising.
In consent regions, and when your region cannot be determined, Google tags remain blocked until you accept. This browser retains a random visitor ID, date, region, notice version and choices; withdrawal preserves earlier acceptance and immediately blocks new events, including in other tabs. Canada receives the notice countrywide because province information is unavailable. Outside these regions you can reject or change measurement here.
