Lake Arenal is the largest lake in Central America — an 85 km² freshwater reservoir framed by rainforest, ranchland and the perfect cone of the Arenal Volcano to the east. This 2-hour guided Jet Ski adventure is one of the region's most scenic water experiences, run on modern Yamaha Wave Runner three-seaters at a ratio of one lead guide per five guests. After a full technique and safety briefing at the private dock, the group heads out across the open lake at your own pace, with a designated route that keeps you on the calmest, most scenic water. Between the runs there are natural chances of shoreline wildlife — cormorants, ospreys, kingfishers, herons, iguanas on floating logs, and even howler monkeys audible on the forested banks. Your bilingual guide narrates the history of the old Arenal town, now sunken 30 meters below the surface after the 1979 dam project that created the modern reservoir.
