The park is open 6:00 AM to 3:50 PM (last entry at 3:50 PM). Mornings are best for wildlife and cooler temperatures.

Mistico Park is approximately 25 minutes from La Fortuna town center by car. Take Route 142 west toward Lake Arenal — the park entrance is on the right just past the dam, up a paved access road. Mistico Park opens daily at 6:00 AM. Last entry is at 3:50 PM. Closed-toe shoes with good grip are mandatory — the trail can be slippery, especially in the rainy season (May–November). Light, breathable clothing works best. Bring a light rain jacket: the rainforest creates its own microclimate and rain can appear without warning at any time of year. Insect repellent, sunscreen for the bridge viewpoints, a water bottle, and a camera with a zoom lens for canopy wildlife.
