The experience
The King Vulture (Sarcoramphus papa) is one of Central America's most spectacular birds — a large white-and-black raptor with a vividly coloured head. Edward's ground hide sits opposite a natural perch that has been maintained for years; birds arrive after sunrise to feed on carrion Edward places nearby. Sessions typically produce 3–8 King Vulture appearances plus Black Vultures, Turkey Vultures and occasional Black Hawk-Eagle. Distance to perch: ~12–15 m.

Edward's field tips
Arrive quietly before sunrise — Kings are extremely wary and will not descend if they detect movement. Stay in the hide the full session; leaving mid-morning ruins the setup for later visitors.
