About the experience
The experience
Sukia Park Nocturnal Wildlife Tour
Sukia Park is a small private rainforest reserve just outside Manuel Antonio, designed specifically for nocturnal wildlife viewing and macro photography. This 2-hour guided night tour walks flat, well-maintained trails through a mix of secondary forest, small ponds and edge vegetation — the exact habitat structure that concentrates amphibians and reptiles after dark. Your bilingual naturalist uses low-impact LED flashlights and a red-filter headlamp to minimize disturbance, and knows the microsites where individual animals tend to appear night after night. Expect red-eyed tree frogs on heliconia leaves, gliding tree frogs, hourglass tree frogs, masked tree frogs, glass frogs above the stream, poison-dart frogs still active at dusk, cane toads, sleeping brown-throated three-toed sloths, eyelash pit vipers on low branches, kinkajous and olingos moving through the canopy, tarantulas, whip spiders, katydids, stick insects and rainforest scorpions fluorescing under UV. Because the reserve is compact and reserved for small groups, the pace is calm and photography-friendly, and rain actually improves activity levels. Round-trip transport from Manuel Antonio / Quepos hotels, bilingual guide, boots and flashlights are provided. Ideal for families with older kids, photographers and nature travelers looking for a shorter, easier night-walk alternative near Manuel Antonio — a quieter, more concentrated experience than the crowded national park circuit.

FAQ
Questions
Frequently asked
How long does this tour last?
It lasts 2 hours. Start times: 5:30pm / 6:00pm.
Is transport or pickup included?
Transport is never included in the tour price. We quote it separately by hotel and zone, so you only pay for the route you actually need.

No. These are wild animals in their habitat. Our guides know the territory and work the best hours, but nature decides.
What happens if it rains?
Rain is part of the rainforest and the activity normally runs; bring a light rain jacket. If conditions become unsafe we reschedule or refund according to our policy.
